Da Lata

The inherently infectious nature of Brazilian music is such that DJs and musicians the world over have fallen in love with it, remixed it, sampled it, fused it, or reinterpreted the original to create their own version of the Brazilian essence. Patrick Forge's Da Lata has done all of the above. A British collective, Da Lata is made up of Chris Franck, a multitalented instrumentalist, Lilian Chachian on most of the Portuguese vocals, and dj/producer Patrick Forge, who is a proven Latin-jazz and soul music lover. Their music is a high energy, globe-trotting soundscape of Brazilian influenced dance tracks, such as the samba flavored Afrobeat track Serious, featuring English Jazz virtuosos Bembe Segue and the Malian Mamani Keita. But Da Lata respects its Brazilian inspiration with the track Ponteio, a lively batucada that is pure Bahia.

Da Lata, de Patrick Forge e companhia, é um destes grupos que reinventam a música brasilera. Baseado em Inglaterra, Da Lata é composta por Chris Franck, um instrumentalista de renome, Lilian Chachian, a voz brasileira na canção Ponteio, e o dj/productor Patrick Forge, admirador confesso de jazz latino e música soul. As suas canções são energéticas e remexidas, misturando por exemplo o Afrobeat com o samba em Serious, feito com a participação da inglesa Bembe Segue e a maliana Mamani Keita. Como sempre, Da Lata respeita a sua inspiração brazuca na música Ponteio, uma batucada que cheira a Bahía.
