I recently watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona and besides the on-screen presence of three gorgeous women (one of them pictured here), the soundtrack was absolutely ridiculous. It blew me away. It's song after arresting song featuring classic acoustic Spanish guitars, complementing the movie beautifully. It makes you feel as if you're right in the middle of Barcelona. And it was a great surprise hearing what is perhaps Paco de Lucía's greatest song, Entre dos Águas, used several times throughout the movie. I got the soundtrack to the film and there are three songs in particular, besides Entre dos Águas, which stand out just a bit more than the others, though competition was close. The simple and sweet El Noi de La Mare, by Muriel Anderson and Jean-Felix Lalanne, is particularly beautiful and at just 2:49 it's also the perfect length for the type of song it is. Granada by Emilio de Benito is another short but sweet track - you can almost see the man strumming. La Ley del Retiro by Giulia and Los Tellarini is the only song of the three with (sensual, breathy) vocals and other instruments besides the guitar. Play this tonight and get transported to Spain.

Há uns dias atrás vi o filme Vicky Cristina Barcelona, onde pude apreciar a beleza infindável da Penélope Cruz. Mas o que mais gostei naquele filme inteligente foi mesmo a sua trilha sonora. Incrível. Era um festival de música acústica espanhola. Músicas lindas que fazem-te pensar que estás mesmo em Barcelona. Músicas que acompanham o filme perfeitamente. E também foi uma surpresa agradável ouvir o Entre dos Águas do Paço de Lucía (talvez a sua melhor música) várias vezes durante o filme. Obtive a trilha sonora do filme e vi que a seguir a Entre dos Águas, há mais três faixas 'bueníssimas'. El Noi de La Maré por Muriel Anderson e Jean-Felix Lalanne é simples e doce, com uma curta duração de 2:49 que parece mesmo perfeita para esta música. Granada por Emílio de Benito é outra música curta mas com uma melodia interessante e um guitarrista tão bom que quase que se vê o homem a tocar mesmo a nossa frente. La Ley del Retiro por Giulia e Los Tellarini é a única das três músicas com uma voz espanhola e sedutora e que faz uso de outros instrumentos que não a guitarra. Toque isso hoje à noite e será transportado/a para Espanha...
