Caipirinha Lounge's First 8tracks Playlist

It never ceases to amaze me how music is being consumed, heard, and devoured online. Or the number of bright minds that are attempting to change our relationship with music, the way we feel it. I used to entertain the thought that I'm on top of my game when it comes to knowing about all the different music platforms available online but in reality I am nowhere near close to such a level of knowing. Beyond the usual Last.fm, Pandora, Hype Machine, and Elbo.ws, recently I have come upon or paid more attention to sites like Chompin, Shuffler.fm, Stereomood, Spotify, and 8tracks, among others. I went ahead and created two new Caipirinha Lounge profiles on Stereomood and 8tracks, two excellent sites for people who want to discover new music. Here in the States music on the radio is horrendous and internet is everywhere, so there is little excuse not to discover new artists and to stop listening to the drivel being shoved down our ears by ClearChannel and the like.

Both 8tracks and Stereomood also provide me with a platform to share with you my non-Lusophone obsessions and create playlists with both Luso music and the tunes I regularly reserve for the non-Portuguese leaning Late Nite Lounge series. Yesterday night I created my first playlist on 8tracks, and gave it the not so PG title of 'After-sex Music With a Latin Flair'. It's a downtempo, relaxed, chilled compilation featuring Luso artists such as Sara Tavares, Afrologia, 340ml (Early Morning might be one of the best after-sex songs in existence), Zuco 103, among others, and non-Luso artists that I can't get enough of, such as Erykah Badu, Telepopmusik, Iron & Wine, Trinah, Federico Aubele, Mum, and even a dash of Carlos Santana.

Follow this link to listen to the playlist and get acquainted with 8tracks. Create your own profile, explore the playlists on offer, and make your own. If it compels you to make a Lusophone-centered playlist, do share it with the Lounge!
