Nights Out in Cape Town: 5 Sexy Capetonian Haunts

About 7 months ago I went to Cape Town for the first time, for the World Cup, then returned again for a couple of days long after the World Cup had finished. I fell in love with the city, hard. I did several tours of it, official and unofficial, wandered its streets, visited its museums, drank from its waters, basked in its sun, ate its food, ogled at its beauty, danced in their clubs and visited its townships, which are still miles ahead of our local 'musseques'. Several months after that I wrote an article for my favorite independent travel website, Matador Network, and it was finally published last week. You can read it in its entirety here.

A cerca de 7 meses fui para Cape Town pela primeira vez, para assistir ao Mundial, e voltei pra lá por uns dias umas semanas depois de terminar o Mundial. Apaixonei-me fortemente pela cidade. Fiz vários tours por ela, oficiais e não oficiais, andei pelas suas ruas, visitei os seus museus, bebi das suas águas, aqueci-me com o seu sol em pleno inverno, deleitei-me ao sabor da sua culinária, rendi-me aos pés da sua beleza natural, dancei nos seus clubes, e visitei os seus 'townships', que ao lado dos nossos musseques parecem primeiro mundo. O CAN

As an example of how on top of things I am not, I wrote an article about the African Cup of Nations that was published by the Matador Network even before the competition started, but am only posting it here at the Lounge now. And while we are on the subject, here are some photos of that fairy tale opening night here in Luanda that the Palancas Negras had the misfortune of ruining with their 4-4 defeat, because draws like that aren't draws. However, they redeemed themselves with their win over Malawi and I’ve never experienced anything like watching the Palancas Negras live. Tomorrow I’m off to the stadium for the third time to watch the all important Angola-Algeria.

Como um exemplo de quão à toa as coisas têm sido por aqui, escrevi um artigo sobre o CAN que foi publicado pelo Matador Network, e só agora é que lembrei-me de o postar aqui no Lounge. E já agora, aqui vão também umas fotos daquele dia lindo que foi a abertura do CAN em Luanda, que os Palancas tiveram a gentileza de nos estragar com aquela derrota infernal dos 4-4. Porque empate aquilo não foi. Mas prontos, redimiram-se com a vitória muito bem conseguida diante do Malawi, e amanhã vou voltar ao estádio mais uma vez para ver o Angola-Argélia. Não há sentimento no mundo igual ao de gritar golo no Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro.
